Papers discussing model results obtained by using this database among their other inputs can either use the provided reference or the acknowledgements. Papers that discuss directly the riverine loads or any analysis on them (e.g. riverine reduction scenarios, river load analysis, etc.) should include the full ackowledgement for all countries used and the author (Sonja van Leeuwen, NIOZ, NL) should be included as a co-author (to check the usage and interpretation of the data).

CAVEAT
"Please note that the riverine data for the UK  has not been formally checked or authorised by the UK and that any conclusions drawn from it need to be treated with caution."

This should be mentioned in any official use of the UK riverine data. This because the UK government has serious quality issues with the UK data as provided by the countries agencies. This applies mainly to nutrient data for England and Wales. ICG-EMO knows the sub-optimal quality of the UK data and have corrected the original observational data were issues were found.
